9/11
Twenty-four years ago today, the world stopped. Smoke filled the skies. Towers crumbled. Lives were lost. Families were broken. A nation was shaken.
But out of the ashes, something rose: faith, courage, and resolve.
Reflection
9/11 was more than an attack on buildings — it was an attack on freedom, on unity, and on truth. Evil tried to break us. Instead, we stood taller.
We remember the firefighters who ran into the flames. The police who gave their lives. The ordinary citizens who became heroes.
And we remember the families who still carry the weight of that day. For them, this wound is not history. It’s life.
Faith Anchor
Even in tragedy, God did not leave us. Psalm 46 declares:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way.”
The earth gave way on 9/11. But God remained. He still remains.
And as hard as it is, Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:14–15 that forgiveness is not optional:
“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
Forgiveness doesn’t erase memory. We do not excuse evil. We don’t forget the cost. But we forgive because Christ forgave us.
Bold Call
As Christians, we cannot forget. We cannot grow numb. We must speak boldly about faith, about truth, about freedom.
- Evil is real.
- Courage is costly.
- Hope is eternal.
- And forgiveness is commanded.
As Americans, we will never forget. As Christians, we choose to forgive.
Closing Prayer
Lord, we pray for the families still grieving. We pray for the leaders of this nation. We pray that America would turn back to You — our true Rock and Defender.
May we never forget. May we forgive. And may we live each day with the same courage we saw on that morning, September 11, 2001.
Amen.
