When Culture Changes but God Never Does

In an ever-changing world, God remains the same. Everything around us shifts — culture, circumstances, even the people closest to us. Yet God is constant. He is, and always will be, the one true foundation we are called to build our lives upon.

Our relationship with God isn’t about the big things only. He cares about the small things too — the worries we hide, the needs we think are insignificant. And it really is a relationship — not ritual, not performance. Prayer is simply conversation with Him. A daily rhythm of speaking and listening, sharing our hearts, and trusting His.

You see, sometimes people read a word like fear in the Bible and stop there. They think it means terror. But that’s why studying and reading is so important. Biblical words don’t always line up with cultural definitions. Culture changes — the Bible doesn’t.

When Scripture speaks of the fear of the Lord, it’s not calling us to panic. It’s calling us to reverence. To stand in awe. To recognize God’s holiness, His power, and His love. It’s the kind of fear that draws us closer instead of pushing us away.

So don’t stop at the first word that seems hard. Dig in. Pray as you read. Ask God to show you what His Word truly means. Because while culture shifts and language changes, the Bible never does. His Word stands forever.

🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You that You never change. In a world that feels unstable, remind me that I can trust You completely. Help me to read Your Word with fresh eyes, to understand it in truth, and to build my life on the foundation that never fails. Amen.
