🎵 Sunday Songs: Who You Say I Am

Song Reflection

This week in worship practice, one part of the song *Who You Say I Am* hit me deeper than ever: “I am a child of God.”

Sometimes the enemy is loud — through fear, doubt, or even the voices of others. But the song reminds us: sing louder than your enemies. Don’t let lies define you when God has already spoken truth. You have a place — not just anywhere, but in your Father’s house.

When I sing, “In my Father’s house, there’s a place for me,” I remember that I’m not an outsider. I don’t have to earn my way in. I belong, because He said so.

Scripture Anchor

• Romans 8:16 (NKJV): “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

• John 14:2 (NIV): “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”

Devotional

Your enemies can be circumstances. They can be doubts in your own mind. They can be people who speak against you. But none of those voices have the final word.

God says you are His child. God says you belong. God says you are free.

When we declare these truths out loud — in worship, in prayer, in the quiet of our day — we drown out the lies. We remind ourselves and our enemies that our place is already secured in the Father’s house.

Prayer for the Week

Father, thank You for reminding me that I am Your child and I belong in Your house. When the enemy tries to whisper lies, help me to sing louder — with truth, with praise, and with confidence in who You’ve called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompt

What lies have tried to tell me I don’t belong? How can I replace them this week with the truth that I am a child of God, with a place in my Father’s house?

Closing Reminder

This week, remember to sing — or praise — louder than your enemies.
