Scripture Anchor:
“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” — Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
The Season of Harvest
Autumn has always been a season of gathering. Farmers step into their fields and finally see the fruit of months of planting, watering, and waiting. But the harvest doesn’t come overnight — it’s the result of daily, unseen faithfulness.
In the same way, our spiritual lives don’t produce growth instantly. The seeds of prayer, scripture reading, obedience, and trust may take time before we see results. But just like a farmer trusts the soil and the seasons, we are called to trust God’s timing.
When Growth Feels Slow
It’s easy to become discouraged when our prayers seem unanswered, or when we’re pouring into others without seeing immediate change. But harvest doesn’t happen in a single day. Growth takes time, patience, and perseverance.
God reminds us: “Do not grow weary.” Even when the fruit is not yet visible, He is at work beneath the surface — strengthening roots, preparing hearts, and aligning circumstances in ways we cannot see.
Sowing in Faith, Reaping in Trust
Every act of obedience, every moment of prayer, every seed of kindness is a deposit into God’s field. At the right time, He promises a harvest — not because of our effort alone, but because of His faithfulness.
Think of the farmer who plants in spring with confidence that autumn will bring abundance. That’s the posture of faith we are invited to live in. The promise is not that the harvest will be easy, but that it will come.
A Word of Encouragement
If you feel weary in this season, hold onto hope. Your sowing is not wasted. God sees every tear, every prayer, every step of faith. He is the Lord of the harvest, and He will bring fruit in His perfect timing.
Prayer
Lord, give me patience to keep planting seeds of faith and trust in Your timing. Help me not to grow weary in doing good, but to believe that You are working even when I cannot see the results. Amen.
Journal Prompt
What seeds of faith am I planting right now? Are there areas where I need to trust God’s timing instead of forcing my own?
