šŖThat Mom Club
Parental controls are not a parenting plan.
Especially when youāre raising a smart kid who knows how to swipe, search, and reset passwords better than most adults.
I use filters.
I set boundaries.
But most of all ā I stay involved.
Because hereās what Iāve learned:
You canāt outsource discernment.
You have to know what your child is watching.
Talk about what theyāre hearing.
Guide what theyāre thinking.
And most of all ā model what it looks like to walk in truth.
āTrain up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.ā
ā Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
A screen lock wonāt shepherd their heart.
But a parent whoās present? That can change everything.
Apps are helpful.
Rules are wise.
But nothing replaces the influence of a mom who shows up, steps in, and doesnāt let the internet raise her kid.
Journal Prompt:
Where am I relying too heavily on tools instead of staying connected to my childās world? Whatās one step I can take to re-engage?
Prayer for the Week:
Lord, give me wisdom to protect my child in a digital world. Help me lead with presence, not just rules. Let my home be a place of safety, strength, and truth. Thank You for entrusting me with this sacred responsibility. Amen.
