Saturday Coffee Truths — October 25, 2025

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6–7 (NKJV)

The coffee is still hot, and the house is quiet.
I’m not a morning person—never claimed to be—but these early minutes before the day starts moving have become my sanctuary. The steam rises slow, the mug warms my hands, and right there in the stillness, I remember: peace isn’t something I chase. It’s something I invite.

This week has been teaching me that again.

Monday reminded me that prayer isn’t the last thing I try—it’s the first place I stand.
Wednesday showed me how Jesus slipped away before daylight, not out of habit, but hunger for the Father.
Thursday stood me at the crossroads and asked, Will you carry it, or cast it?
And Friday—Friday laid it bare: a nation only stands when it remembers who the real King is.

Even when the worries come—and they always do—still, He remains steady.
Worry rocks like an old chair, back and forth, wearing grooves in your heart. I’ve sat there. I’ve tried to fix what only faith can settle. But every time I stop, breathe, and pray first, something shifts. Not always the storm. Always the soul.

Because grace doesn’t run out at sunrise.
It meets you in the dark, before the rooster, before the news, before the weight.
It says, You don’t have to hold this alone.

So I pray before I plan.
I surrender before I strive.
I bow before I build.

And I remember—we are a people meant to be rooted in righteousness, watered by mercy, growing under one King. When we forget that, freedom frays. When we return, even on our knees over coffee, He restores.

Right there in the quiet, before the world wakes—He’s already waiting.

Father,
Meet me here, in this ordinary moment, with this simple cup.
Teach me to pray before I panic, to trust before I take control, to bow before I build anything in my own strength.
Quiet my heart. Steady my hands. Turn my eyes—and my nation—back to You.
Because You are King, and grace is enough.
Amen.

What’s one thing I’ll hand to God before I touch it today?
