Every farmer knows the best work starts before the sun crests the hills. There’s something sacred about those early hours — when the air is cool, the mist still clings to the grass, and creation feels like it’s waiting for God to say “go.”
But I’ll be honest — I’m not a morning person. Still, when I am up early, I remember why I love those quiet beginnings. Morning quiets are different. There’s a stillness that feels alive — not the heavy hush of night, but a peaceful anticipation.
The sky glows with soft pinks and golds, easing into day. Some mornings are pale and gentle, others bold and full of color — each one its own quiet hymn. The animals begin to stir — a rooster calls, a dog stretches, a few birds find their song. And somewhere in all of that, there’s the first taste of coffee from your favorite mug — warm, grounding, familiar. It’s a simple grace, a small reminder that God is near even in ordinary moments.
That’s the kind of morning where peace finds you before the day can. Jesus knew this well. “A long while before daylight,” He slipped away to pray — not out of habit, but out of need. He knew that before He spoke, healed, or led, He needed stillness with His Father.
When we give God our mornings, we’re not just talking to Him — we’re inviting Him to steady our steps before the noise starts. Morning prayer is like tending the soil before planting — it prepares your heart for peace to grow.
You don’t have to love mornings to love what God can do in them. Sometimes all it takes is a quiet moment, a soft sunrise, and that first sip of coffee to remember — you’re not doing this day alone.
