Scripture Anchor
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” — Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)
Reflection
Barns carry their own kind of sermon. Step inside and you notice the scents — hay, wood, dust, and animals. There’s quiet, yet it’s never the same: sometimes the barn glows with golden light through the cracks, other times it feels heavy and shadowed. It all depends on the time of day.
Life with God can feel the same way. Some seasons are filled with light — joy, clarity, and ease. Other times feel dim — questions, waiting, or weariness. But just as the barn is still standing whether in sun or shade, so is God’s presence with us. The setting may change, but His strength remains.
The barn reminds us that faith isn’t about chasing constant brightness. It’s about learning to trust Him in both light and shadow. His strength is steady, His presence sure, no matter what time of day your soul feels like it is.
Bold Challenge
This week, when you feel weighed down or walking in the shadows, declare Psalm 27:1 aloud. Remind yourself that God is both your light and your strength — in every season.
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my light in the bright days and my strength in the darker ones. Teach me to trust You in every season, knowing You never change even when my circumstances do. Amen.
Journal Prompt
What “shadow” season are you walking through right now? How can you invite God’s light and strength into it today?
